Natural Sponge & Ceramic Butterfly Feeder
The sponge that comes with your butterfly feeder was sustainably harvested from the Gulf of Mexico and comes from Tarpon Springs Florida.
Instructions: Mix 4 parts boiling water to 1 part sugar in order to dissolve the sugar. Once cooled (not boiling), pour about a 1/2 cup all over the sponge into the container. Save the rest. Some people just use fruit punch!
Add 1/2 cup of the sugar mixture every 5-7 days or as needed. Take your sponge out every other week to rinse with fresh water.
Place your feeder in a semi-shady/shady area.
If you experience any ant problems, just put petroleum jelly over 2 inches of the rod, where the rod meets the container.
Not only will butterflies enjoy visiting the feeder, you may even get some hummingbird visitors as well. Enjoy!
Kit comes with 1 ceramic bowl (choose your design), 3 sections of a metal rod each about 16.5" long, 2 connector bolts and a natural sponge. Adjustable height, you choose how many rods to use.
